Loto-Québec wishes the best of luck to all its bursary recipients at the London 2012 Paralympic Games! Français
MONTREAL, Aug. 28, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - On the eve of the London Paralympic Games, which will be held from August 29 to September 9, 2012, Loto-Québec would like to congratulate the 16 athletes who receive support from its bursary program and will be participating in this unique event.
Created in 2007, Loto-Québec's bursary program has enabled the Corporation to turn over a total of approximately $180,000 in bursaries to exceptional athletes with physical impairments. The objective is to support their pursuit of excellence on the provincial, national and international scenes.
The program is managed by the Fondation de l'athlète d'excellence du Québec in cooperation with various sports federations and associations of athletes with physical impairments, such as Parasports Québec, the Association québécoise de sports pour paralytiques cérébraux, the Association sportive des sourds du Québec, the Association sportive des aveugles du Québec and certain single-sport federations.
"Loto-Quebec is proud of these bursary recipients. Their success in sports is an excellent example of personal achievement and an inexhaustible source of inspiration to all! We wish them all the best of luck in London," said Pierre Bibeau, Senior Vice-President, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Loto-Québec.
