BOUCHERVILLE, QC, Nov. 22, 2016 /CNW/ - Lowe's Canada is officially announcing its commitment to phase out the sale of corded window coverings by 2018 – a commitment that will be respected by all its banners, including Lowe's, RONA and Réno-Dépôt. This announcement is the conclusion of a process which began one year ago in order to comply with Health Canada requirements.
"Lowe's Canada takes the concerns of its customers very seriously, and the safety of products sold by our stores and various banners is our top priority," said Alain Brisebois, Executive Vice President, Affiliate Dealers and Operations Central Services, at Lowe's Canada. "We require our suppliers to comply with industry norms and the standards established by Health Canada. This is why the window coverings sold in our stores are tested in independent laboratories to ensure their compliance with or superiority to the requirements in effect."
Lowe's works with manufacturers to make cordless products more accessible to all consumers and continues to promote their advantages for households with young children. The company also intends to expand its selection of cordless products in all window covering categories.
