MONTREAL, June 4, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Our Founding Chairman is one of 33 exceptional individuals selected in 2013 to receive the highest award the Government of Québec can bestow.
It is with great pride that RES PUBLICA Consulting Group has learned that its Founding Chairman, Luc Beauregard, will be conferred the title of Knight of the Ordre national du Québec for his outstanding career and contribution to the field of communications and public relations. The insignia awards ceremony, presided over by the Québec Premier, will be held on June 6.
Jean-Pierre Vasseur, President and Chief Executive Officer of RES PUBLICA said, "On behalf of the 400 employees of the RES PUBLICA network, we are extremely proud of the recognition that is being conferred upon our Founding Chairman. By bestowing Luc with the Quebec Government's highest honor, tribute is being paid to him for his outstanding contribution to the entire public relations profession and, hence, to Quebec society. "
It is through Luc's vision and commitment that RES PUBLICA - which includes NATIONAL, Cohn & Wolfe, Sonic Boom and AXON Communications - has experienced tremendous growth since its founding in 1976 and has for several years now stood at the forefront as Canada's largest public relations firm. RES PUBLICA is among the top five independent public relations firms in the world.
"In Luc's mind communications and public relations have always been a way to contribute to economic and social development, whether it's here in Quebec or abroad through the founding of the non-profit Public Relations Without Borders," said for his part Andrew Molson, Chairman of RES PUBLICA. "Luc has always believed in the added value of public relations, and the importance of rigor and professional development for its practitioners. In his own way, Luc makes the Quebec of today and tomorrow shine."
NATIONAL was one of the first firms to develop research and analysis services in order to bring new rigor and depth to its consulting services via the monitoring of public opinion. It is this type of rigor that inspired the creation of the Luc Beauregard Centre of Excellence in Communications Research at Concordia's John Molson School of Business in 2012.
During his 40 years of practice, Luc has relentlessly provided leadership to the profession, having chaired the Canadian Public Relations Society, the North American Public Relations Council, the Canadian Public Relations Consultants Institute and the College of Fellows of the Canadian Public Relations Society, in addition to serving as board member of the Communications + Public Relations Foundation.
The news comes at the same time that the public relations industry in Quebec has chosen to pay tribute to our Founding Chairman's exceptional career. Last Thursday, in Montreal, Luc Beauregard received last Thursday the prestigious ACRPQ Distinction en consultation Award at a gala hosted by the Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques (SQPRP) in Montreal.
Luc has won countless professional accolades over the years, including the President's Award of the Société des relationnistes du Québec, the SQPRP's Equinox Award, the Philip A. Price Novikoff Award of the Canadian Public Relations Society for his contribution to society and the Outstanding Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Canadian Public Relations Society.
Our Founding Chairman's dedication to community organizations in the fields of health, education and the arts and the extent of his accomplished communications career led to his appointment as Member of the Order of Canada in 1996.
Luc's journey and the highlights of NATIONAL's history are described in further detail in his recent biography Luc Beauregard. Le pari de la vérité.
