MONTRÉAL, Aug. 4, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group President and CEO Guy Cormier is pleased to confirm Luc Ménard as Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif, a Group subsidiary. Mr. Ménard had held the position on an interim basis since Marie-Claude Boisvert was appointed Senior Vice-President, Business Services, Desjardins Group on June 14.
Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif serves primarily as the manager of Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins (CRCD), Capital Croissance PME and Desjardins – Innovatech.
Holding a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Université de Sherbrooke and an MBA from Queen's University, Mr. Ménard joined Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif senior management in 2007. With the organization since 2001, he served as Vice-President, Venture Capital, from 2007 to 2009, Vice-President, Buyouts and Major Investments, from 2009 to 2013 and then Managing Vice-President, Investments, from December 2013 until his appointment as Chief Operating Officer. As such, he has led a team of professionals with a solid presence across Québec specializing in company buyouts, development capital, business transfers and supporting the growth and development of cooperatives. Previously, he worked with large companies and in business startups in the telecommunications industry.
