When the City of Montreal put out a call for tenders on a $28 million project to replace its decorative fixtures, Lumca won the lion's share of the job, with a contract of more than $15.5 million. The company was awarded eight out of the nine lots for which its lighting products were eligible. In keeping with its famously high quality of service and products, Lumca pitched solutions meeting the most rigorous criteria, including on price, energy consumption, and photometric performance. In doing so, the company has proven that it is the best-value supplier of state-of-the-art energy-efficient luminaires. As part of this final push to modernize Montreal's decorative lighting, the fixtures promise to dramatically reduce electricity consumption over the next ten years—which means big savings for the City. To accommodate the three years of production required by this contract and to maintain its high standards of service and manufacturing for its other partners, the 28-year-old company will devote an entire new production line to this project.
