VANCOUVER, Jan. 31, 2019 /CNW/ - The Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) announces that Bryan Cox, President and CEO, will be leaving MABC in mid-February 2019 to pursue another role in the natural resource sector in British Columbia.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to thank Mr. Cox for his significant work advocating on behalf of our industry and the jobs and economic opportunity it creates," stated Jeff Hanman, Chair of MABC. "As CEO Mr. Cox significantly increased the profile of the Association and highlighted the important role mining plays in jobs, technology and the transition to a low carbon economy."
Bryan joined MABC as Vice President of Corporate Affairs in 2014 and was appointed President and CEO in 2017. As President and CEO Bryan launched a new strategy for MABC that highlighted the importance of maintaining a competitive mining sector in B.C. and the role of B.C.'s mining industry in the low carbon economy.
MABC and its members wish Mr. Cox every success in his new role. To ensure a successful transition a new President and CEO will be appointed shortly.
