Mackenzie Investments Announces Reduced Minimum Investment and Enhancement to its Private Wealth Pools and Risk Rating and Distribution Policy Changes for Certain Funds Français
TORONTO, Sept. 26, 2017 /CNW/ - Mackenzie Financial Corp. (Mackenzie Investments) today announced a lower minimum investment for investors to qualify for Mackenzie Private Wealth Pools, as well as enhancements to the investment strategies and lead managers of the Pools. In addition, Mackenzie announced changes to the risk ratings of 16 funds and distribution policy changes on select series of six funds. The reduced minimums, risk rating changes and distribution policy changes will be reflected in the renewal of the simplified prospectus of the Mackenzie mutual funds, which is scheduled to be filed on or about September 29, 2017.
The Mackenzie Private Wealth Pools are eight unique mandates that blend a carefully managed long-term strategic asset allocation with a multi-manager structure that employs experienced professionals from Mackenzie's investment boutiques, each with their own style and strategy. As of September 29, the minimum initial investment for Mackenzie Private Wealth Pools is reduced from $150,000 to $100,000 per pool. This minimum is waived for household assets above $250,000 with Mackenzie.
Along with this change the lead portfolio managers on six of the eight Pools will change, effective September 29, 2017.
Alain Bergeron, Senior Vice President and Head of the Mackenzie Asset Allocation Team, will become lead manager of the following Pools along with Andrea Hallett, Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Mackenzie Asset Allocation Team:

- Mackenzie Private Global Income Balanced Pool
- Mackenzie Private Income Balanced Pool (also available in Corporate Class)
- Mackenzie Private Canadian Focused Equity Pool (also available in Corporate Class)
- Mackenzie Private US Equity Pool (also available in Corporate Class)

The above Mackenzie Private Wealth Pools will be changed to include active currency management for the total portfolio and dedicated tactical asset-allocation to take advantage of market opportunities.
Risk rating changes
Mackenzie Investments is also announcing risk rating changes to 16 funds. This change results from compliance with the Canadian Securities Administrators' updated Risk Classification Methodology (December 2016). Previously, the risk ratings were determined using the risk classification guideline issued by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada. Now, risk ratings are calculated using the methodology prescribed/required by Canadian securities regulators, which incorporates the product's benchmark or other relevant index where actual historical data is not available or cannot be used.
No changes have been made to the investment objectives or strategies of the funds listed below.
