Major Exchanges get behind Everipedia's IQ Airdrop ahead of June
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, May 25, 2018 /CNW/ -- Everipedia, the world's first and largest peer-to-peer encyclopedia project, today announced its June 2018 IQ token airdrop will be supported by five exchanges including Bitfinex, BigONE, Coinex, ZB.com and EXX.
Airdropping across a vast variety of exchanges allows for a wider distribution of IQ tokens and also means EOS holders do not have to worry about moving their tokens off exchange ahead of the Airdrop.
Using the EOS.IO genesis snapshot tool, IQ tokens will be distributed to EOS holders in June. The tokens will be a central component of the incentive structure within Everipedia's protocol, which rewards users for curating articles, allowing editors to become stakeholders in the network. Editors may select from any of the exchanges in the following list to access their IQ tokens.
In June, Everipedia editors should ensure their EOS tokens are registered for mainnet snapshotting. This distribution method gives ultimate flexibility on network choice since the genesis snapshot process is mandatory for any EOS network launch in the event that there are multiple competing EOS mainnets. In this case, a community vote would likely be held to select a network.
This announcement follows Everipedia's announcement of securing $30M in funding from the EOS Ecosystem Fund, lead by Galaxy Digital and Block.one, which is dedicated to expanding EOS, the blockchain platform on which IQ tokens operate. Everipedia planned to utilize the funding for expansion, the integration of new features and to reward contributors with IQ tokens. Now, with support from multiple exchanges, Everipedia is doing just that. Major exchanges that will be supporting Everipedia's airdrop include:
- BigONE
- Bitfinex
- Coinex
- ZB.com
- EXX
Everipedia will continue facilitation of discussions and collecting feedback via Telegram. Further details on the percentage of the utility tokens to be airdropped, the ratio of IQ to EOS tokens and the total circulating supply will be released as the airdrop date nears and the IQ tokens become accessible across these exchanges.
"Receiving support from such a wide variety of exchanges demonstrates the blockchain community's enthusiasm and investment in our project," said Sam Kazemian, Co-Founder and President of Everipedia. "With many exchanges on board, Everipedia is on track to be one of the largest dapps the world has seen."
"With support from these major exchanges, we'll be able to increase user accessibility to IQ tokens, incentivizing them as stakeholders," said Everipedia Co-founder and CEO Theodor Forselius. "Ensuring greater participation is key to our mission of decentralizing knowledge."
