MONTREAL, April 25, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA) and CGI Group have signed a five-year contract renewal for the distribution of Fichier central des sinistres automobiles du Québec (FCSA) data, a key source of information for automobile insurers in the underwriting process.
FCSA database consulted more than 1.5 million times a year
Under its partnership with GAA, CGI will handle the exclusive distribution of FCSA automobile claims history statements in Quebec, providing hosting, support and applications management services. It will also ensure online subscriber access to FCSA data for insurers and brokers.
Michel Ladéroute, Information Systems and Technology Director at GAA, noted that "the number of FCSA consultations by industry stakeholders continues to increase. The FCSA database is consulted more than 1.5 million times a year by industry stakeholders and by consumers, who also have access to their claims files. Given this volume, the importance of FCSA data in the auto insurance underwriting process in Quebec is undeniable."
GAA and CGI: partners since 1996
"We're pleased to be working with the GAA to streamline and improve the automobile insurance underwriting process for both insurers and consumers through IT," said Eva Maglis, President, Global Infrastructure Services, at CGI. "Our extensive expertise with the FCSA database enables us to offer GAA the tools it needs to effectively meet its subscribers' needs."
Within the insurance sector, CGI provides a full range of IT services to more than 175 global P&C, life and commercial health insurers, plus agencies and brokers. It develops innovative business and technology solutions that help insurers transform their operations, such as risk selection, policy administration, premium accounting and claims settlement requests. As a result, clients are able to drive efficiencies, cut costs, differentiate themselves and generate sustainable profitable growth.
