Major roadwork on the elevated section of the Bonaventure Expressway for the next 25 weeks, beginning May 30th Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, May 25, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to inform road users that extensive repair of the box girders will take place on the federal section of the Bonaventure Expressway at the Lachine Canal, beginning May 30 for approximately 25 consecutive weeks.
During this period, two lanes will be kept open in each direction, towards the Champlain Bridge and towards downtown Montreal, at all times.
Preparation of the work site towards downtown Montreal will begin with the closure of two lanes out of three from Tuesday, May 29 at 10 a.m. until Wednesday, May 30 at 6 a.m. Please note that two out of three lanes will be open to traffic on Wednesday morning, 6 a.m. towards downtown Montreal.
Preparation of the work site in direction of the Champlain Bridge will necessitate the closure of two lanes out of three from Wednesday, May 30 at 8 p.m. until Thursday, May 31 at 2 p.m. Starting on Thursday, May 31 at 2 p.m. two lanes will be open to circulation in both directions on the raised section of the Bonaventure Expressway, at the Lachine Canal level for the next 25 weeks.
Note that this major construction project will be completed in four phases. Press releases will be sent to inform the population of the various changes in lane configuration. Two lanes will remain open in each direction during rush hour on week days.
