Major roadwork on the elevated section of the Bonaventure Expressway POSTPONED to begin on June 2 - Implementation of the work site from May 30 to June 2 Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, May 30, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to inform road users that extensive repair of the box girders will take place on the federal section of the Bonaventure Expressway at the Lachine Canal, beginning June 2 for approximately 25 consecutive weeks.
During this period, two lanes will be kept open in each direction, towards the Champlain Bridge and towards downtown Montreal, at all times.
Implementation of the work site
The implementation of the work site will require two major closures, that will take place in the coming days:
- Towards the Champlain Bridge, two out of three lanes will be closed from Wednesday, May 30 at 8 p.m. until Thursday, May 31 at 2 p.m. Please note that two out of three lanes will be open to traffic towards the Champlain Bridge, once the work site has been implemented.
- Towards downtown Montréal, closure of two out of three lanes from Friday, June 1 at 10 a.m. until Saturday, June 2 at 7 a.m.
- Brief closures of certain access ramps to or from the Bonaventure Expressway (consult www.champlainbridge.ca)
Starting on Saturday, June 2 at 7 a.m. two lanes will be open to circulation in both directions on the elevated section of the Bonaventure Expressway, at the Lachine Canal level for the next 25 weeks.
Note that this major construction project will be completed in four phases. Press releases will be sent to inform the population of the various changes in lane configuration. Two lanes will remain open in each direction during rush hour on week days.
