Make It Pop Season 2 Debuts Exclusively on the YTVGo App, Friday, December 25

TORONTO, Dec. 17, 2015 /CNW/ - Corus Entertainment's YTV is bringing the music-infused series Make It Pop back for a second season, which will debut with an exclusive sneak peek of the entire first episode on the YTVGo app on Friday, December 25. The highly anticipated 20-episode second season will begin rolling out on YTV's TV channel on Monday, January 4, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT), day-and-date with Nickelodeon in the U.S. With all new songs and performances, heightened drama and lots of laughs, season two will continue to follow the coming-of-age journey of social-media maven Sun Hi (Megan Lee), bookish Corki (Erika Tham), fashion-forward Jodi (Louriza Tronco) and DJ Caleb (Dale Whibley) at Mackendrick Prep, who are members of the band XO-IQ. Faced with bigger challenges and higher stakes in season two, XO-IQ has yet to reunite after a number of setbacks. Corki is in danger of being removed from Mackendrick Prep by her father, Jodi is deciding if she should pursue her love of fashion, and now that Sun Hi is clashing with hotshot guitarist Linc, it looks like XO-IQ might be over, until a new band competition and rival boy band emerge and change everything.
Make It Pop features original songs and performances from the show's emerging, real-life group, XO-IQ, which has become a pop sensation, garnering 20 million views on the XO-IQ and Make It Pop YouTube channels since the series' Spring 2015 launch on Nickelodeon. The group's debut full-length album, Tomorrow is Ours, featuring music from season 2 will be released worldwide on December 18 across digital music platforms including iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Spotify and more. Tomorrow is Ours features popular singles from the series including "Walk That Walk", "Make You the One" and "Back to Me".
Make it Pop fans will a get a dose of holiday fun with a new special episode featuring XO-IQ's new Christmas single, "All The Love" premiering tonight, Thursday, December 17, at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT. After playing what might be their final XO-IQ concert ever, best friends Sun Hi, Corki, Jodi, and Caleb are ready for their winter break. When a massive blizzard threatens to trap them at school the girls worry they'll never make it home, but a mysterious new boy, Linc, helps everyone find the true meaning of the holidays.
Make It Pop is co-created by Thomas W. Lynch and Nick Cannon and produced by DHX Media. Lynch and Cannon also serve as executive producers with DHX Media's Steven DeNure and Anne Loi.
