Man GLG Emerging Markets Income Fund: Character Conversion Budget Measures
TORONTO, April 12, 2013 /CNW/ - On March 21, 2013, the Minister of Finance proposed certain measures which are expected to affect the tax treatment of distributions paid to taxable unitholders of investment funds that utilize forward agreements to obtain exposure to an underlying reference portfolio. Based on its review to date, Man Investments Canada Corp. believes that these changes will not affect the Man GLG Emerging Markets Income Fund (TSX : EMY.UN) (the "Fund"), or the tax treatment of its distributions received by unitholders, until the expiration of the Fund's forward agreement in November, 2014. The Manager awaits further guidance from the Federal Government on the implementation of the budget proposals and will provide additional details to unitholders as it becomes available.
