Managers and Professionals at MTS Inc. Authorize First Strike Action in 40 Years
WINNIPEG, July 2, 2013 /CNW/ - In an unprecedented move, more than 1,000 managers, supervisors, and professionals working at MTS Inc. voted by 82.8% to authorize strike action. This is the first strike mandate in TEAM's 40 year history.
The Telecommunications Employees Association of Manitoba - IFPTE Local 161 (TEAM), represents approximately one-third of the workforce at MTS Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.
Negotiations have been ongoing since early 2013. The earliest a strike can take place is July 16, 2013.
