Manuel Parreira recognized for Lifetime Achievement
Bank of Canada's Manuel (Manny) Parreira named recipient of the prestigious 2017 Loss Prevention Lifetime Achievement Award.
TORONTO, Sept. 11, 2017 /CNW/ - Retail Council of Canada (RCC) announced today it is honouring Manuel (Manny) Parreira, Bank of Canada's Regional Director (Ontario), as the 2017 Loss Prevention Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
The award will be presented to Mr. Parreira during Retail Council of Canada's Loss Prevention Conference on September 19, 2017 in Toronto. Several hundred loss prevention professionals are expected to attend the special ceremony.
Previous recipients of this esteemed recognition include Stephen O'Keefe, President, Grist Mill Solutions and Canada Post's Director, Enterprise Security Development, Rita Estwick.
Mr. Parreira is a 37-year veteran of the financial services Loss Prevention industry, where he is a leading authority in currency and anti-counterfeiting of Canadian bank notes. He is especially recognized for his work with financial, retail, law enforcement and government stakeholders.
"Throughout his career, Manny has been a passionate advocate for protecting retailers against criminal activity," said Diane J. Brisebois, President & CEO of Retail Council of Canada. Ms. Brisebois added that "Manny is a dedicated professional and retail is stronger because of his contribution."
Loss prevention peers are especially appreciative of Mr. Parreira's unwavering dedication to the retail Loss Prevention industry and his continued participation in various committees and networking groups.

Retail Council of Canada's 2017 Loss Prevention Conference during which Manny will be honoured will also bring together 26 leading Loss Prevention professionals who will present at the day-long event. Topics that will be covered include:
