Manulife Asset Management Hires Geoff Lewis As Key Macro Strategist, Asia, on Capital Markets & Strategy Team Français
TORONTO and HONG KONG, Jan. 28, 2016 /CNW/ -- Geoff Lewis has joined Manulife Asset Management as Senior Strategist, Asia, on the Capital Markets & Strategy team. The appointment was effective December 2, 2015. Mr. Lewis, who is based in Hong Kong, reports directly to Bob Boyda, team head in Boston, and locally to Peter Warnes, Senior Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Solutions Group, International.
"Geoff brings to our firm more than 40 years' experience as an economist, capital markets analyst and strategist. In his new role at Manulife Asset Management, he will be a key contributor to our capital markets, asset allocation and active management teams in Canada and the US, providing thought leadership insights centered on Asia across a wide array of equity, fixed income, currency and commodity markets. Most recently, Mr. Lewis was with JP Morgan Asset Management in Hong Kong, first as a bridge between investors and portfolio managers and more recently as Global Market Strategist focusing on Asia. He has been a familiar author and face across multiple media outlets including Bloomberg, Reuters and CNBC.
Prior to his role at JP Morgan, Mr. Lewis was Chief Economist for Dresdner, Kleinwort Benson and prior to that, Smith New Court Far East. His work has also ranged from policy development for the Economics division of the UK Treasury, to economic planning on behalf of a co-operative arrangement between the UK and Japan. He also served as the Chief Strategist for an asset management organization, where he played a critical client-facing role.
