TSX/NYSE/PSE: MFC SEHK:945
TORONTO, May 17, 2013 /CNW/ - Manulife Financial is pleased to announce that a video highlighting the seven finalist teams of the Manulife Financial: Entry into Asia Challenge is now available on YouTube.
The video documents the teams and their work as they prepare for their final presentations before a panel of international judges. The business school students also discuss their motivation for entering the Challenge and their rationale for working with the company profiled in their business plan and presentation.
Manulife invites the public to watch the video of the seven finalist teams. The winners of the competition will be announced on May 22.
The Manulife: Entry into Asia Challenge asked undergraduate and graduate business school students at Canadian universities to create a business plan for a Canadian small or medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) to expand into any market in Asia. Competing teams will demonstrate their ability to think strategically about entry into Asian markets while demonstrating their understanding of the unique attributes, challenges and realities facing Canadian SMEs.
"The quality and professionalism displayed by these teams is truly inspiring," says Marc Avaria, Vice-President Group Small Business, Manulife Financial. "Manulife proudly supports small business entrepreneurship, that is alive and well - and helping to make the Canadian economy thrive. Though Manulife is a large company, we believe it is imperative we understand the unique needs of small business owners and ensure we offer products and services to support their needs."
The finalist teams represent the Paul J. Hill School of Business at the University of Regina, the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and the University of Waterloo.
The University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management is managing this one-time only competition. Additional details on the competition are available at manulife.com/asiachallenge.
