Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Attends Launch Ceremony in Shanghai
SHANGHAI, China, Sept. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Manulife-Sinochem today announced the launch of its MOVE program, an innovative insurance program that rewards customers with free insurance coverage for taking steps to stay healthy and active.
The MOVE launch ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, as part of his first ever official visit to the country. Established in 1996, Manulife-Sinochem is the first foreign-invested joint-venture life insurance company. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in China, the success of Manulife-Sinochem exemplifies the strong cooperation between the Canadian and Chinese business community. Manulife is an international financial services company headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
The launch of the MOVE program in mainland China is part of Manulife's strategy of changing how the world views life insurance by promoting health and wellness so customers can live long, healthy and fulfilled lives. Similar programs have been launched in Hong Kong, the Philippines and the United States. The program will be launched in Canada this Fall.
"We think it's time to use the power of technology to empower and reward our customers in China for living a healthier lifestyle," noted Roy Gori, President and CEO, Manulife Asia at the launch event. "Leveraging the huge success we've had with ManulifeMOVE in Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines, we're excited to be bringing this revolutionary life insurance experience to our customers in mainland China, and create more engaging relationships with them."
Chinese customers who sign up for the MOVE program will receive a fitness tracker, enabling them to measure their progress anytime, anywhere. Upon achieving pre-set goals, customers will have the opportunity to earn free insurance up to 200,000 RMB.
"At Manulife-Sinochem, we put our customers at the center of everything we do. Customers have told us that they need help to maintain an active lifestyle so they can have a longer, healthier future with their families. We hope we can encourage everyone to lead healthier lives with MOVE," said Kai Zhang, President and CEO, Manulife-Sinochem. "Small steps today can really make a big difference in the future, that's what MOVE is all about."
