Maple Leaf Foods Celebrates More Than 10 Years Supporting Tim Horton Children's Foundation
ST. GEORGE, ON, Dec. 13, 2013 /CNW/ - Tim Horton Children's Foundation thanks Maple Leaf Foods for longstanding commitment to helping kids discover their best.
Maple Leaf Foods is a leading consumer packaged food company, headquartered in Toronto with operations across Canada and in the United States, United Kingdom, Asia and Mexico. Many of the company's high quality, great tasting and nutritious food products are enjoyed by thousands of Foundation campers each year.
In addition to the generous donation to the organization's annual food program, Maple Leaf Foods supports the Foundation's signature golf tournaments in Canada and the United States through premium level sponsorships. The company also provides significant contributions towards the Foundation's Black Tie Gala which funds the organization's bursary program for past participants pursuing post-secondary education. Recently Maple Leaf Foods made an incremental five year commitment towards the Foundation's campaign for new camp development.
As one of the Foundation's largest corporate donors, Maple Leaf Foods has shown outstanding dedication to building brighter futures for economically disadvantaged children from Tim Hortons communities across North America. Richard Lan, Chief Operating Officer, Food Group, Maple Leaf Food Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer, Canada Bread Company, Ltd., comments,
"The Tim Horton Children's Foundation plays a tremendous role in shaping a bright future for so many children. Investing in the confidence and growth of our young people is an investment in the future of our societies and cultures. We are proud to support such an incredible cause that helps our leaders of tomorrow discover their full potential." Richard is also a member of the Tim Horton Children's Foundation Board of Directors.
A Foundation camp experience is an opportunity for a child to gain valuable life skills in a nurturing environment. Participating in challenging activities during their time at camp inspires these children and youth to set personal goals and reach new heights. The campers receive encouragement from dedicated staff and in turn develop confidence in their abilities and learn to take pride in their accomplishments. Many of our campers return home as more caring, responsible and motivated individuals.
