MONTRÉAL, April 6, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The organizers of the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon are selling the flags that adorned Boulevard Saint-Joseph East and Parc-La Fontaine Avenue in September 2015 to the public as a way to please collectors and raise money for the Fondation Tel-jeunes.
Runners and collectors who wish to get their hands on one of the 40 commemorative banners from the 25th Marathon can do so by making a donation (minimum of $25) to the Fondation Tel-jeunes, partner of the Marathon since 2002 and the official cause to which all funds collected by the sale of the flags will go.
"These are the only flags that were created in the history of the Marathon. They were created specifically for the Montreal Marathon's 25th anniversary in 2015, which makes them exclusive and historical objects," explains Dominique Arsenault, spokesperson of the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon.
For Céline Muloin, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Fondation Tel-jeunes, the purchase of this collectible is a great way to directly contribute to the mission of the Fondation: "Each and every donation gives us the opportunity to continue to offer quality services to kids and their parents at the time they need it most."
Ms. Muloin invites young runners to take on the challenge of the 1km P'tit Marathon Tel-jeunes on September 25, 2016.
With five races, including the most popular half-marathon in Canada, the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon and Half Marathon is the biggest running event in the province of Quebec. To register for the 2016 edition, visit: www.runrocknroll.com/montreal/register/
