An invitation from the Mayor of Montréal
MONTREAL, March 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Exactly three weeks before the official opening of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, the Mayor of Montréal, Mr. Michael Applebaum, sends out an invitation to all citizens of the Montréal urban community! On March 16, an open house will give the public an opportunity to discover the new building and those who created it, via a unique itinerary specially conceived for this event—a fascinating visit!
"Since 1966, Montrealers have had a wonderful love affair with their Planetarium. This is why we are pleased to open the doors of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium to them for a sneak peek. They can be proud to be among the first to step inside this boldly designed building, which will, without question, help raise Montréal's profile," Mayor Applebaum declares.
Charles-Mathieu Brunelle, Executive Director of the Montréal Space for Life, adds: "The arrival of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium marks a turning point for the Space for Life. Finally together in one place, the Biodôme, the Insectarium, the Botanical Garden and now the new Planetarium will offer visitors a complete experience of nature, from the infinitely small to the infinitely large. We are pleased to give the public this exclusive look at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium as our teams put on the finishing touches ahead of the grand opening on April 6."
