MONTRÉAL, Feb. 13, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Hydro-Québec invites you to visit Beauharnois generating station during March Break. The whole family will enjoy discovering this remarkable example of our architectural heritage.
Visit an exceptional generating station
Beauharnois generating station, designated a national historic site, is one of the world's largest hydroelectric power plants. With 38 generating units spread out over nearly a kilometre, the venerable Beauharnois powerhouse plays a key role in Hydro-Québec's grid.
Our guides are great at explaining scientific concepts in a clear and simple way. They will tell you about the history and geography of the generating station, explain how a run-of river powerhouse generates electricity and show you a generating unit in action.
