The Beauharnois generating station, designated a national historic site, is one of the world's largest hydroelectric power plants. With 38 generating units spread out over nearly a kilometre, the venerable Beauharnois powerhouse plays a key role in Hydro-Québec's grid.
Our guides will tell you about the history and geography of the generating station, explain how a run-of river powerhouse generates electricity and show you a generating unit in action.

Reservations are required, since space is limited.
Guided tour schedule
February 27 to March 6, inclusive: at 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 14:45 p.m.
Tours last 90 minutes.
Visitors aged 18 and over must present a valid identification card with picture before they can tour the facility.
For safety reasons, tours are not recommended for children younger than two.

The generating station is located right in the town of Beauharnois, near Melocheville, in Montérégie.
