Calgary's Poker Tournament and a Special Wish Granting Event Highlight a Packed Month
CALGARY, March 1, 2016 /CNW/ - March has officially been declared 'Children's Wish Month' throughout the province of Alberta. This month is dedicated to celebrating the Wish Children, donors, and volunteers who allow The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada to grant the most heartfelt Wish to children facing high-risk, life-threatening illnesses.
The Edmonton Mayor and The Calgary Tower
March begins today with Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson's official decree of 'Children's Wish Month' in the provincial capital. To symbolize the unity of the province in support of Wish Children, in the south of the province the Calgary Tower will be lit up in Children's Wish blue all evening.
The Children's Wish Foundation Poker Tournament
To highlight the importance of 'Children's Wish Month', one of the AB/NWT chapter's biggest fundraisers, The Children's Wish Poker Tournament, takes place at the Cowboys Casino on March 29. Local celebrities will call, fold, and most importantly, raise, during the tournament to raise funds for Children's Wish. Tickets are $250.
