TORONTO, June 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Margaret E. Franklin, CFA was celebrated at an intimate gala in Toronto last night where she received CFA Institute's Alfred C. "Pete" Morley Distinguished Service Award. This award signifies her outstanding contribution to the financial industry, both locally in Toronto and globally.

Morley award winners." said Margaret Franklin, CFA.
The Alfred C. "Pete" Morley Distinguished Service Award was established to honour members who have made an extraordinarily significant contribution to CFA Institute through their leadership, exceptional stewardship, and outstanding service.
"Over her career in the industry, Franklin has been a champion of the financial industry exemplifying CFA Institute's mission to shape an investment industry that serves the greater good of society. It has been an honour to work with her here in her role as a dedicated volunteer with CFA Society Toronto and see the profound impact she has had globally inspiring others to follow in her footsteps." Margaret Franklin has over 20 years of institutional and private client investment management experience. She is the President of Marret Private Wealth, a division of Marret Asset Management. Marg has worked at Barclays Global Investors, State Street Global Advisors and Mercers in senior positions. In 2002, Marg moved from the institutional side of the business to work with private clients
She is the former Chairman of the board of governors of the global CFA Institute, is a past president of CFA Society Toronto and is a CFA charterholder. Marg was named one of Canada's Most Powerful Women Top 100 in 2010. She has a BA in Economics from McMaster University. Marg is a regular speaker to media and at conferences in the areas of investing, behavioural finance and private wealth. Marg earned her CFA charter in 1997 and is Senior Advisor to CFA Society Toronto's Private Client Committee.
