TORONTO, Dec. 19, 2012 /CNW/ - The OSPCA conducted a surprise inspection of Marineland today. The inspection team included two veterinarians and five inspectors. Marineland and its staff cooperated fully with the investigators. The investigators inspected habitats and all of the animals. Marineland also voluntarily provided water samples to investigators.
On November 27 Canada's Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA) conducted its own surprise inspection and reported that there were no concerns identified during the inspection. The report stated that the water was clear and clean. Marineland has completed the request for proposal phase for the independent water evaluation as agreed to with CAZA. That report should be completed shortly.
Today's inspection at Marineland was the third conducted by the OSPCA in the past several months. Marineland has fully cooperated on every occasion.
