Marketing and Google Canada Come Together to Celebrate the Nation's Most-Watched Ads on YouTube
TORONTO, June 20, 2013 /CNW/ - Marketing magazine has teamed up with Google Canada to become the exclusive media partner in presenting YouTube's monthly ranking of the top-watched advertising videos in Canada.
"There is so much engaging, funny, inspiring advertising on YouTube, and the Marketing audience is hungry to see what is resonating with consumers," said Marketing Editor-in-Chief David Thomas. "This partnership allows our readers to witness, enjoy and learn from the brilliant creative, smart promotion and successful branding being showcased every day on YouTube."
Starting today, the Marketing website (www.MarketingMag.ca) will feature a story every month with embedded video of the top 10 ads viewed by Canadians on YouTube, according to an algorithm that factors in paid views, organic views and view rate (how much of a video viewers choose to watch).
The YouTube Ads Leaderboard kicks off today with "A Brief History of Smallenfreuden," (created for Visa Canada by BBDO Proximity with OMD as media agency) in the top spot; "Zachary Quinto vs. Leonard Nimoy: 'The Challenge'" (for Audi of Canada by Venables Bell & Partners with Mediacom) at #2; and Call of Duty: Ghosts Masked Warriors Teaser Trailer (by 72andSunny and the Ant Farm, with OMD) in the third spot.
