ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., July 1, 2014 /CNW/ - Maserati North America, Inc. continues to break its sales records in North America, today reporting (1,015 units) sold representing the strongest June sales month in the company's history and 228.5% percent increase compared to June 2013 (309 units). This continues the momentum from May 2014, which marked the best sales month in the company's 100-year history.
At the midpoint of the year, Maserati posts triple-digit sales increases due to the strength of Ghibli and Quattroporte models, which continue to rapidly increase Maserati's market share. Competitive pricing coupled with superior performance and AWD offering are helping to penetrate a new customer base for the legendary Italian auto manufacturer. Maserati's North American network expansion also continues at a rapid pace, with six new dealerships appointed in June alone, and a total of 120 stores forecasted by year's end.
"With the Ghibli and Quattroporte, we are competing in an all-new segment and sharing our products with a new customer base. We are beginning to outperform in particular sectors and expect growth to be sustained. Maserati is hitting its stride and I'm confident we have the product to substantiate its position," stated Peter Grady, President & CEO of Maserati North America, Inc.
Dealerships are opening their doors to new customers that are proving quick to convert to the trident brand. Maserati has become the perfect alternative for those seeking a luxury sports sedan with superior sporting engine performance without foregoing all of the creature comforts at an extremely competitive price. The 2015 versions of Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans, available fall 2014, will feature standard product upgrades and enhanced content from the '14 model year.
The manufacturer is also on the verge of introducing a new bespoke model, the Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition, exclusive to only 100 units worldwide. This limited edition V8-Quattroporte will be a true expression of Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna's 'Made in Italy' signature design with production beginning this July.
At the pinnacle of its modern day success, Maserati continues to establish itself as a global automotive player with an all-time high sales record and ever expanding product line.
