MasterCard Canada Waives Interchange Fees on Donations to Haitian Aid Efforts

TORONTO , Jan. 14 /CNW/ - MasterCard Canada announced today that it will waive interchange fees on Haitian relief donations that are made using Canadian issued MasterCard cards to the following organizations: Canadian Red Cross; Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières; The Salvation Army; UNICEF Canada ; and World Vision. MasterCard Worldwide has announced a similar program for U.S. donations.

"The outpouring of support from Canadians to the people of Haiti is fantastic and we want to help contributions go as far as possible," said Jennifer Reed , Vice President, Communications and Government Relations, MasterCard Canada .

MasterCard also has an employee donation program in place that is double-matching employee contributions to the Haitian disaster relief fund to the Red Cross.
