Government of Canada awards $110,000 in financial assistance to Patlin Textiles, in Mauricie
SAINT-PAULIN, QC, Feb. 23, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources to create and commercialize innovative products. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative Canadian enterprises. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success because it generates growth that benefits businesses and communities.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Patlin Textiles has been granted $110,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution. The funding helped the company acquire state-of-the-art equipment so that it can improve its productivity and carry out expansion projects.
Founded in 1991, Patlin Textiles is an SME in the Mauricie region that employs more than 50 people. It is known for its excellence and offers a complete range of custom window treatments and bed coverings for the hotel, institutional and residential sectors. The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program helped the company acquire computer equipment, a heat transfer machine and a fabric printer.
With this new equipment, the company will be able to print its own designs instead of working only with imported fabrics. This will shorten production times and provide its clients with quicker service and fully customized products. By the same token, the business will minimize its ecological footprint by avoiding losses in unsold fabrics.
