Mawer launches Mawer Global Equity Fund

CALGARY , Oct. 22 /CNW/ - Effective October 22, 2009 , Mawer Investment Management Ltd. is pleased to announce the launch of a global equity mandate utilizing Mawer's existing investment philosophy. Mawer has been managing international and US equities for over two decades, and global small cap equities since 2007, with approximately $2.4 billion in assets invested outside Canada . Global Equity represents a natural extension of these mandates, offering clients the choice of a global equity or individual asset class approach to portfolio construction.

Mawer will offer global equity through segregated management for institutional clients and through the Mawer Global Equity Fund. The Global Equity mandate will be co-managed by Jim Hall , Director of Research, and Paul Moroz , manager of the Mawer Global Small Cap Fund.

Mawer Investment Management Ltd. won the award for Best Equity Fund Family at the 2009 Lipper Fund Awards. The Mawer World Investment Fund, US Equity Fund and Canadian Equity Pooled Fund have also won awards from Lipper and the Canadian Investment Awards between 2002 and 2009.
