INDIGO'S STAFF PICKS OF THE MONTH
Indigo's Staff Picks program is the perfect place to start looking for your next favourite book. Each month we choose the book that Indigo employees at home office and in stores love the most, and what we think our customers will love. Click here to learn more about Indigo's Staff Pick of the Month program.
The May Staff Pick of the Month is Ginny Moon by Benjamin Ludwig. Meet Ginny Moon. She's mostly your average teenager: she plays flute in the school band, has weekly basketball practice and reads Robert Frost poems for English class. But Ginny is autistic. And so what's important to her might seem a bit different: starting every day with exactly nine grapes for breakfast, listening to Michael Jackson, taking care of her baby doll, and crafting a Big Secret Plan of escape. Ginny has been in foster care for years, and for the first time in her life, she has found her "forever home." Though this is exactly the kind of home that all foster kids are hoping for, Ginny has other plans – and she'll go so far as to try to get herself kidnapped in order to escape.
Told in an extraordinary and wholly original voice, Ginny Moon is at once quirky, charming, big-hearted, and poignant. It's the story of an outsider trying to find a place to belong, and about making sense of a world that just doesn't seem to add up.

#IndigoBookClub!
The #IndigoBookClub calls on booklovers from all over the globe to take part in a monthly Twitter party to discuss great reads in 140 characters or less.
This month's #IndigoBookClub title is Roughneck, a masterwork from Canadian cartoonist and illustrator Jeff Lemire – the bestselling and award-winning mind behind Secret Path and Essex County.
Roughneck is an all-original graphic novel about a brother and sister who must come together after years apart to face the disturbing history that has cursed their family. After Derek Ouelette's hockey career ended, he's been living off of his reputation in the remote northern community where he grew up. He never expected his long-lost sister, Beth, to show up one day out of the blue, back in town and on the run from an abusive boyfriend. Roughneck is a deeply moving and beautifully illustrated story of family, heritage, and the desire to break the cycle of violence at any cost from one of today's most acclaimed comic creators.
We hope you will join the #IndigoBookClub Twitter party at @chaptersindigo on Wednesday, May 31st at 7 PM. Author Jeff Lemire (@jefflemire) will be taking part to answer reader questions about his book.

#READTHENORTH: CELEBRATE THE BEST IN CANADIAN LITERATURE
Indigo is thrilled to shine light on Canada's incredible wealth of writing talent this summer, as part of an evergreen movement called #ReadtheNorth. Acclaimed writers, novelists and poets like Margaret Atwood, Alice Munro, Wab Kinew and Andre Alexis represent a small but significant portion of Canada's celebrated and diverse writing community. Through this campaign, Indigo hopes to inspire Canadians to develop a deeper appreciation for Canada's authors and their works.
Canadians who love the idea of reading Canadian literature, but don't know where to start, can turn to Indigo's Read the North online shop and in-store table for frequently updated reading recommendations. Plus, booklovers can share (and wear) their Canadian pride with #ReadtheNorth sweatshirts, t-shirts, totes and mugs, all available at indigo.ca.
