Mayflower Canada announces "Go Green" initiative

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 5 /CNW/ - Mayflower Canada is launching their new "GO GREEN" campaign which focuses the consumer on the fact that moving is a pivotal point in one's life and a perfect time to make some environmentally conscious changes. Moving to a new home is one of the very few stages of life which offers an opportunity to change the way they live not only physically but environmentally as well, states Anne Martin President, of Mayflower Canada.

The GO GREEN campaign consists of three stages. The first is an internal environmental commitment from our member community to "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" in all our business operations across Canada. Secondly, it includes a commitment from our GO GREEN Mayflower member community to get involved in local community initiatives across the country, by volunteering and donating material, equipment and facilities to local environmental causes. Thirdly, and most importantly, is our direct to consumer Go Green Program, whereby our moving consultants provide information and services to encourage our clients to GO GREEN in their new home.

Martin says, "we are providing a 'lighten up' challenge to each potential client asking them to set environmental goals for their new home." Mayflower also provides a GO GREEN GLOSSARY of links to environmental web sites full of information on all types of Green services. We also provide solutions to properly dispose of unwanted house hold items such as; the safe disposal of toxic products, unwanted furniture, clothing, food, and building material.

Customers are also given a GO GREEN house warming gift as a reminder for their new home. It is full of great green gifts such as clothes lines, reusable grocery bags etc. You certainly don't think of the environment when you are moving, but really, isn't it a perfect time to start asks Ms. Martin?
