Mayor Joanne Vanderheyden appointed 1st Vice President
OAKVILLE, ON, March 12, 2012 /CNW/ - During the inaugural Board of Directors meeting held Wednesday, February 29 2012, Joanne Vanderheyden, Mayor, Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, was appointed to 1st Vice President of the OGRA Board of Directors.
Mayor Vanderheyden brings six terms of political experience to the OGRA table. In 2006 she was the first women elected as Warden of Middlesex County. She served again in 2010 and 2011. Another historic first came in 2010 when she became the first women elected to serve as Mayor of the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc.
The Board of Directors responsibility is to set policy and provide direction to OGRA.
The mandate of the Ontario Good Roads Association is to represent the infrastructure interests of municipalities through advocacy, consultation, training and the delivery of identified services.
