Maystar General Contractors complete $40 million expansion project for Kitchener Public Library

TORONTO, April 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Maystar General Contractors Inc. recently completed the Phase 2B construction of an impressive library renovation and expansion project for Kitchener Public Library that is targeted for Silver LEED certification. The $40 million project added 25,000 square feet of space and transformed Kitchener's old Main Library into a spacious new Central Library.

As part of the project, Maystar General Contractors also built a 412-space, three-level, underground parking garage and completely renovated and updated all three floors of the existing library with upgraded mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.

Library staff has begun occupying Phase 2B of the addition and are currently setting up all book shelving and furniture. The intention is to open to the public by the end of May 2014. For more information, visit www.kpl.org/central.
