RICHMOND HILL, ON, April 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported March sales of 7,048 vehicles, representing an increase of 1.5 percent versus March 2017. This is the best March sales month for Mazda Canada since 2013. Year-to-date sales are 16,075, which is an increase of 3.8 percent compared to the same period in 2017.
Key March 2018 and Q1 sales notes:
- Through the first quarter, CX-5 still holds the lead as the best-selling model in the Mazda lineup, ahead of the perennially best-selling Mazda3 compact car. This is a shift from 2017, when the Mazda3 regained the lead after 3 months.
- CX-5 had its best March sales ever with 1,744 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 36.4 percent year-over-year (YOY).
- Posting its best-ever March since first going on sale in 2007, the CX-9 finished the month up 12.0 percent YOY.
- The CX-3 recorded its eighth consecutive record sales month, with 1,192 vehicles sold in the month of March. This number represents an increase of 41.4 percent versus March of last year, and 45.8 through the first quarter.
- Mazda's CX-line of crossovers, including the CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9, led the sales charge in March, resulting in the best March sales since 2013. Collectively, Mazda sold 4,192 crossovers in the month of March, marking an increase of 34.7 percent YOY, and 26.1 through the first three months of 2018.
