MONTREAL, Dec. 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - McGill University welcomed today the adoption of the law on the ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie (MESRST), which will allow the official creation of the ministry.
« We see in the creation of the MESRST a powerful signal of the government's commitment toward post-secondary education, as well as a recognition of the crucial role of university-level institutions in research and innovation," said Prof. Suzanne Fortier, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill.
« Furthermore, we are delighted that the bill was adopted unanimously, a sign that all parties share a common goal in helping Quebec universities thrive », concluded Prof. Fortier.
