MONTREAL, Oct. 20, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - McKesson Canada officially opened its brand new state-of-the-art pharmaceutical distribution centre in Trenton, Ontario. McKesson Canada welcomed His Worship Jim Harrison, Mayor of Quinte West (Trenton), as well as other distinguished guests including municipal councillors, industry officials, local health care providers and media to its facility and celebrate the occasion.
"We have invested over $73 million in our brand new modernized distribution centre in Trenton. This site will become McKesson Canada's most important regional base, servicing patients throughout Ontario," said Alain Champagne, President, McKesson Canada. "Building this new facility was an important decision for us. Together with our employees, this site enables McKesson Canada to increase capacity and better respond to the evolving needs of health providers in Ontario while achieving greater operational efficiencies."

A look into our latest distribution centre
The new facility features 500,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space and 12,700 sq. ft. of office space, which is approximately 25 times larger than its original building on Sidney Street and includes a staff of over 200 employees. It is fitted out with one-of-a-kind equipment and tools including a new automation system that helps increase the distribution centre's overall productivity and volume of orders.
