mdBriefCase Group Inc. launches new Medical Cannabis Certificate Program
TORONTO, March 9, 2015 /CNW/ - mdBriefCase Group Inc. launches new Medical Cannabis Certificate Program on AdvancingPractice.com.
The new online certificate program helps healthcare professionals understand the new legal and political landscape, as well as improve their ability to assess whether medical cannabis is an appropriate option for their patients.
Although the new legislation, Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulation (MMPR), has been in place for just over 8 months, there are few credible resources available to healthcare professionals interested in learning more.
"Our original goal was to fill an obvious learning gap," says Janet Kimura, Vice President of mdBriefCase Group Inc. "But, as the program took shape, it became an in-depth review of best practices for clinicians interested in prescribing medical cannabis for their patients."
"Education is empowerment– without it, how can we be expected to make informed decisions for our patients?" says Dr Ian Mitchell, member of the planning committee.
The national planning committee represents physicians, pharmacists and even a lawyer – all passionate advocates for improving patient care.
