MDC Partners Raises Over $191,000 for Haitian Relief Effort

MDC and its Partners Urge Companies to Implement Similar Employee Matching Programs

NEW YORK, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - MDC and its partner agencies announced today that they have raised over $191,000 for the Haitian Relief Effort. MDC Partners donated over $117,000, which includes $58,787 of employee donations. The MDC employee matching program was implemented on January 14th, two days after the earthquake, when Miles S. Nadal, Chairman and CEO of MDC Partners, encouraged all employees to donate what they could to help the people of Haiti. The donations were diversified across 14 charities that employees chose to support, including the Red Cross, Unicef, Yele Haiti, CARE, Doctors Without Borders, and Oxfam.

Since the time that MDC announced the employee donation matching program, the Canadian Government initiated their own fund matching program by matching donations made to any registered Canadian charity receiving donations in response to the Haiti earthquake before the end of February. 11 of the 14 charities that MDC employees chose to donate to have Canadian chapters, and MDC has matched the donations to those chapters to ensure that each and every dollar is stretched to its fullest potential. Employee contributions, together with the matching efforts of MDC, and Mr. Nadal, as well as the matching efforts of the Canadian Government where applicable, bring the grand total of funds being sent in support of Haitian disaster relief by MDC and its Partner firms to over $191,000.
