Media Advisory - Children's Wish to Receive Major Donation from Industry Representatives at Cow Head Fabrication Facility

ST. JOHN'S, NL, June 25, 2013 /CNW/ - The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, will accept a major gift donation from representatives of Suncor Energy and Peter Kiewit Infrastructure Co. on Wednesday, June 26.  The event will begin at 12:00 PM at the Cow Head Fabrication facility in Marystown.

This significant donation is a token of appreciation of the local community, and in recognition of the outstanding support and commitment to safety exhibited by employees of Suncor Energy during the recent extended turnaround on the Terra Nova FPSO at the Cow Head Fabrication facility in Marystown.

Suncor Energy is the operator of the Terra Nova oil field on the Grand Banks, about 350 Km southeast of St. John's.  Peter Kiewit Infrastructure is part of the Kiewit Group, which is operator of the Cow Head Fabrication facility in Marystown.

WHAT:	The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter, will accept a donation of $35,000 from representatives of Suncor Energy and Peter Kiewit Infrastructure Co. (PKI)
WHO:	Stewart Strong and Michael Dyke (Suncor) along Mike Buckle (PKI) will be presenting the cheque to Edie Newton, Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter Director of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.  A local Wish Family will also be in attendance.

Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness.  Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to over 19,000 children and their families.

This year, the Foundation expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day.  Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family.
