MEDIA ADVISORY - 100 Halifax leaders to be exiled to the Garrison Grounds
CASTAWAYS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHILDREN'S WISH
DARTMOUTH, NS, Sept. 14, 2015 /CNW/ - 100 of Halifax's most respected local business leaders will be exiled to the Halifax Garrison on Friday September 18th to compete in Exile Island – Halifax in support of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
Children's Wish Exile Island is one of Canada's most unique corporate challenges. Exile Island is a "Survivor" inspired fundraiser that pits 10 corporate rival "tribes" against each other in a variety of challenging mental and physical contests to collect the most money in donations and pledges by calling friends, family and colleagues. Each tribe is paired with a Wish child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, with the ultimate goal of same-day fundraising to be able to confirm the granting of their Wish child's most heartfelt wish. Business leaders from some of Halifax's best known corporations will be outsmarting, outplaying and out-pledging each other in order to grant 10 children their most heartfelt wish. Our Wish Children are in attendance during the Exile Island fundraiser, and receive the exciting news at the end of the challenge day that their wish will be granted.
Last year's Halifax Exile Island event raised over $250,000, enabling numerous children living with a life threatening illness the opportunity to receive their most heartfelt wish. The objective of this year's Exile Island event is to surpass last year's success and grant even more wishes.

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest all Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For more than 30 years, Children's Wish has worked tirelessly to grant heartfelt wishes to more than 22,000 children and their families.
This year, the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes across the country with the help of volunteers and generous donors; that is approximately three wishes each and every day, all year long. The Children's Wish Nova Scotia Chapter has now granted a total of over 1000 wishes, with 75 more wishes still to be enjoyed. Each wish is the child's most heartfelt wish, and carefully structured to meet the particular needs of the child and their family. Children's Wish is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory. Visit www.childrenswish.ca for more information and to donate
