Media Advisory - 102.1 The Edge's Todd Shapiro to EXILE Ontario Business Leaders
One-of-a-kind fundraising event to benefit Children's Wish
PICKERING, ON, May 23, 2013 /CNW/ - On Friday, May 31st, 2013 executives from some of the GTA's most prominent corporations will become castaways and be exiled to historic Fort York for Toronto's 3rd annual Exile Island (www.exileisland.ca). The one-of-a-kind corporate challenge will raise funds for The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
The action-packed event will feature 10 rival tribes competing in a variety of challenging mental and physical contests. Each tribe is paired with a local wish child who has yet to be granted their most heartfelt wish from Children's Wish. By participating in Exile Island, the corporate teams are responsible for raising enough funds to grant their wish child their most heartfelt wish.
To date, Toronto Exile Island events have raised over $250,000, enabling numerous children living with a life threatening illness the opportunity to receive their most heartfelt wish. The objective of this year's Exile Island event is to surpass last year's success and grant even more wishes.

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to over 19,000 children and their families.
This year, the Foundation expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory.
