Media Advisory - 110 tribe members to be exiled to the Garrison Grounds
Castaways to raise funds for Children's Wish
DARTMOUTH, NS, Sept. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - 110 participants from various local businesses will be exiled to the Halifax Garrison on Friday September 20th to compete in Exile Island - Halifax in support of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
The event will feature 11 rival tribes competing in a variety of contests to collect the most money in donations and pledges by calling friends, family and colleagues. Each team is paired with a wish child to provide motivation and inspiration through the mental and physical challenges.
In 2012, Halifax Exile Island event raised over $350,000, enabling numerous children living with a life threatening illness the opportunity to receive their most heartfelt wish. The objective of this year's Exile Island event is to surpass last year's success and grant even more wishes.

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to 20,000 children and their families.
This year, the Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory.
