STANLEY PARK, VANCOUVER, Nov. 17 /CNW/ - On Monday, November 22, we invite the media to join BC's Professional Fire Fighters, the staff from the Stanley Park Train and Children's Farmyard, adult burn survivors and even Santa, as everyone puts the finishing touches on the Thirteenth Annual Bright Nights in Stanley Park lighting event. This year's theme is Canadian Christmas.
An annual tradition for many families in the Lower Mainland, over 250 thousand people visit Bright Nights each year. A joint event of the Vancouver Park Board and the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund, Bright Nights runs from Friday, November 26, 2010 until Sunday, January 2, 2011. Hours are 3 PM to 10 PM daily. It is closed Christmas Day. The Children's Farmyard closes at 9 PM daily.

BRIGHT NIGHTS IN STANLEY PARK RAISES MONEY FOR THE BURN FUND |
Preventing Victims, Empowering Survivors!!!™ - Partial proceeds from the train and all donations at the event help raise funds for the important work carried out by the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund. The fundraising goal for this year is $200,000.
The Burn Fund provides life saving, life supporting, and life enriching services to the people in British Columbia. More than 3,750 professional fire fighters from fifty-one communities around the province dedicate their time and skills to support burn survivors and increase the public's knowledge about fire and burn safety issues through the work the Burn Fund does with its Burn Awareness, Research and Prevention Programs.

TICKET INFORMATION: Advance tickets are available at ticketmaster.ca or order by phone at 604-280-4444. Same-day tickets available at the Stanley Park Train from noon daily. Note that half the tickets for each night are available for on-site purchase.

DIRECTIONS to Bright Nights from downtown Vancouver: Drive along Georgia Street, heading west. Keep in the right lane, and take the 'Stanley Park' exit. You'll be heading north, and will come to a roundabout. Take the second road off the roundabout, which is Pipeline Road. Drive up a slight hill, past the Rose Garden and the right-hand turn off to Malkin Bowl and the Stanley Park Pavilion. Continue up the hill, and at the fourth road on your right, turn right into the parking lot for the Stanley Park Train, and the entrance to Bright Nights.
