Media advisory - 18th RBC Challenge - 500 people will race up the stairs of Place Ville Marie for Centraide Français
MONTREAL, Nov. 23, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On November 25, 2015, some 500 corporate employees will take up the 18th annual RBC Challenge for Centraide, a relay race in which 10-person teams strive to reach the top of Place Ville Marie in record time.
They will compete against high performance athletes in an attempt to beat the standing record, established last year, by racing up the 1,000 steps of the tower's 41 flights of stairs in less than 2 minutes 38 seconds.
The team of elite athletes will be composed of racing cyclist Lex Albrecht, snowboarder Caroline Calvé, freestyle skiers Gabriel Dufresne and Marc-Antoine Gagnon, synchronized swimmer Karine Thomas and ice hockey players Charline Labonté, Caroline Ouellette, Marie-Philip Poulin and Lauriane Rougeau. Sledge hockey player Benoît St-Amand will serve as the team's coach.

All the proceeds of this sporting event will be donated to Centraide Campaign 2015, which runs until the end of December, to support the work of over 350 community agencies that help one in seven people in Greater Montreal.
