TORONTO, June 18, 2018 /CNW/ - For the 12th consecutive year, through the generosity of donors, Toronto Community Housing is awarding scholarships to 58 youth community leaders, including youth living in TCHC communities. Toronto Community Housing and scholarship donors will celebrate the achievements of this year's recipients on June 20, as part of a scholarship presentation event to be held at Artscape Wychwood Barns (Christie and St-Clair West).
Media availability: Media are invited to attend the event on June 20th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Interview opportunities include scholarship recipients, TCHC President and CEO Kathy Milsom, as well as representatives from a number of scholarship donors. The award celebration is co-sponsored by The Daniels Corporation and Tridel Corporation.
The 2018 Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship provides funds for tuition and books for first year postsecondary studies. The June 20th award ceremony will recognize 58 recipients for their community work and academic achievements. The event is also an opportunity for students to discuss career plans with experts and mentors in their chosen field of study.
