QUEBEC, Sept. 20 /CNW/ - This afternoon, at 2:15 pm, a contingent of Sears National Kids Cancer Ride cyclists will stop at the Sears Place Laurier store, after having left from British Columbia, September 9, en route to Halifax. These cyclists are crossing Canada to raise money and awareness in the battle against childhood cancer.
Cyclists will meet with the media along with David Archambault of Operation Enfant Soleil, kids who have survived cancer and Dr. Bruno Michon from Centre hospitalier universitaire de Quebec.
The Sears National Kids Cancer Ride is the world's longest charitable cycling event on behalf of childhood cancer. The last two rides raised $2.6 million. This year's goal is to raise $1.5 million. Part of the money is distributed to the Centre mere-enfant du CHUQ, the Montreal Children's Hospital, the Hopital Ste-Justine de Montreal, and the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke.
