Ottawa Senators Hockey Advisor Bryan Murray and World Curling Champion Craig Savill to Speak at "Changing How We Live With Cancer" Campaign Event

OTTAWA, Nov. 23, 2016 /CNW/ - On November 23^rd, the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC) (@OICCSupport) is gathering with donors and community leaders to mark its fifth anniversary since it opened in 2011 as the first integrative cancer and research centre in central and eastern Canada.

Cancer patients, Bryan and Craig will share their personal experience with the OICC approach to integrating evidence-based complementary therapies with their hospital treatments.  OICC Founder Dr. Dugald Seely, ND (@dugaldseely) will speak to five years of achievements and the OICC's vision for the future as it continues to lead the growth and research of integrative cancer care in Canada.

About the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre

The Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC) is changing how people are living with cancer.  The OICC approach to integrative cancer care enables people to live the best they can while undergoing hospital-based treatment, reducing side effects, improving quality of life, and helping prevent recurrence. 

A not-for-profit organization, the OICC is leading the way in integrative cancer care and research, and is the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Canada.  Awarded the two largest-ever integrative cancer research grants in North America, the OICC is a game changer for cancer.  The OICC Foundation campaign "Changing How We Live with Cancer" is funding specialized patient programs, innovative research and subsidized care for those unable to afford integrative care.  The campaign will help the OICC respond to the increasing number of cancer patients seeking care.
