RAISING THE ROOF - HELP PUT A CAP ON YOUTH HOMELESSNESS!
WHAT: It's Raising the Roof's annual Toque Tuesday fundraising - and awareness raising - event. It's time to buy a Raising the Roof Toque and help the homeless! Goal: To sell 3000 toques on the Skytrains in one day! WHO: Raising the Roof is Canada's only national charity dedicated solely to finding long-term solutions for homelessness. This national Toque Campaign raises funds and awareness in the fight against homelessness in Canada. Eighty percent of proceeds raised in Vancouver will go directly to support two local homelessness-serving community agencies - BladeRunners (Vancouver) and the Progressive Housing Society (Burnaby). The remaining twenty percent will support Raising the Roof's national Youthworks initiative, focused on breaking the cycle of youth homelessness across Canada. WHEN: Toque Tuesday, February 2nd, during the daily commute, 6:30 - 9:30 a.m., 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. - 3 opportunities WHERE: Over 50 toque-selling volunteers from BladeRunners, Progressive Housing Society and the community will be stationed at 12 Skytrain stations including: Burrard Station, Waterfront Station, Granville St. Station, Vancouver Art Gallery, Robson St @ Thurlow, Georgia St. @ Burrard, New Westminster Station, Columbia St. Station, 22nd St. Station, Royal City Centre and New Westminster Metrotown Mall, Burnaby
